Any responsible citizen of the two local government areas will rightly be shocked to read the comments of Tsamaye on the person of Hon.  Gobir. As a popular Hausa adage says: “He has bitten the fingers that fed him’’. One finds it necessary to promptly respond in order to protect the hard-earned integrity of the lawmaker whose reputation is being sullied and to set the record straight and preserve the good image of the lawmaker from the mischievous machinations of short sighted and selfish politicians who don’t mind rubbishing the image and integrity of people just to further their personal agenda.

 It is pertinent to declare from the onset that from the content and tune of Tsamaye’s comment it is apparent he is all out to act the script of poisoning the cordial relationship that has been existing between Hon. Gobir and the people of the Sabon Birni constituency. This political prostitution is self-serving and reflects the attitude of some unscrupulous politicians whose only thought and interest is themselves and not the people they claim to be serving.

 It is ridiculous that the author of the said article is making the claim that, “on arrival, we had difficulties meeting people to talk to who can give an account on the effort of Hon. Gobir, so far, in contributing to the development of his constituency’’. This is because no reasonable citizen of the two local government areas will blindly accuse their benefactor who is so dear to them and a rallying point as far as the leadership of his people is concerned. A leader who cherishes all: the old and the young, the poor and the rich. It is unbelievable that the writer could not find a single man on the street to ask about Hon. Gobir but he had to rather resort to Tsamaye whose negative views are simply that of a lone individual swimming in his hatred and self-deception. Why can’t the writer had broadened his research by asking other exco members of the party or ordinary people in the town whom the so-called dividend of democracy is meant for?

 Tsamaye claim in the write-up that supporters of PDP and loyalist of the party were stopped by the honourable member from being loyal to the chairman of Sabon  Birni local   government is far from the truth. We want to remind Tsamaye that Hon.  Gobir is not vying for the seat of the local government chairman; he had been a local government chairman in Sabon Birni in 1999. It is neither the job of the honourable member to solicit for patronage from the chairman; the chairman himself owes it to his people to provide them with able and quality leadership that would affect their lives positively. He should not heed the likes of Tsamaye whose tactics is basically divide- and-rule.

  Tsamaye stated that the honourable member promised him a motorcycle but has not fulfilled the promise. Is this the yardstick Tsamaye uses in measuring the achievement of the honourable member? Is giving Tsamaye and his ilk a motorcycle a more important priority than building schools, constructing roads, buying drugs to hospitals, offering scholarship to students and helping the unemployed youths to get jobs? Let Tsamaye and his likes realize that what is so dear to Hon. Gobir is the welfare and wellbeing of his people and how to move the constituency forward. This is the desire of every responsible leader and not satisfying the selfish whims and demands of some people.

 Tsamaye and his likes should please learn to play politics responsibly and not like political hooligans who don’t give the slightest thought to tarnishing the good image of responsible citizens of the state as long as they achieve their personnel petty ambition. With his tactics of dragging the reputation of innocent people through the mud, one is left with no better choice than to distance all the good people of Sabon Birni constituency from his callously fabricated negative propaganda. Tsamaye and his like should be reminded that Hon. Gobir is still looking forward to entrenching a genuine practice of democracy that will unite all our people, both the young and the elderly alike for the progress of the constituency. If Tsamaye has nothing to offer to the honourable member on how to move the constituency forward, he should simply stay aside and keep his dangerous distractions to himself.
