Re: Indecent dressing in our schools

It is quite disturbing that nowadays, male and female students in our tertiary institutions dress indecently. This is definitely against the moral standards of our society. Unfortunately, we are gradually losing our tradition, culture and religion to modernisation.

If students are allowed to dress and behave the way they like, it will definitely affect their future and that of the society negatively.  It is worthy of note that the negative effect of the social media will ruin our morals if nothing is done to check it. It is advisable that parents frequently visit their children’s school so as to know what they are doing. This is so because some of the students pretend at home but engage in all sorts of negative activities in school.  Most female students live with their boyfriends. No doubt, this affects their academic performance, which in turn affects their future as they can easily fall into the wrong hands.

There is the need to draw the attention of religious leaders to this anomaly. They should always spend quality time to preach against it, and if possible, mete out sanctions. We cannot continue to allow such immoral behaviours in our society, all in the name of modernisation. It is not acceptable. The National Orientation Agency (NOA) also has a great role to play here. The time to save our society is now.
