In my view, the challenge posed by Radio Biafra is caused- at least partly- by the NBC spreading itself too thin in embracing state-owned electronic media in its regulatory framework. This is because same is contrary to the express provisions of Item 66 of the exclusive legislative list of the 1999 Constitution which clearly excludes such media from its scope.
I believe the outcome of that flagrant infraction of the Constitution is reflected in the failure of the Commission to nip radio Biafra in the bud. It is never a good idea – nor is possible – to be all things to all men.
