My attention had been drowned to the above name opinion written by Timawus Mathias in the Daily Trust of Wednesday April, 16 2016.  The writer typical of him as a Nigerian never looked at the other side of the coin. Instead he joined privileged Nigerians, who can afford to have cars, demanding to have petrol at filling stations of their choice and at subsidize rate.  Nigerian elites never recognize achievements easily.
If what the writer wrote and if what he quoted that, the Minister of State for Petroleum and GMD of NNPC, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu said was true and I quote: “For the first time in over 8 years we have been able to capture back system 2B all the way to Ilorin.  For the first time in 6 years we were able to pump crude oil from Excavos to Warri Refinery, pump crude oil from Brass to Port Harcourt Refinery and also were able to pump crude from Warri to Kaduna…This is the first in over 10 years we have been able to accomplish this”.
Going by what the minister said, any right thinking Nigerian who believed this development is one of the best achievement of APC lead government under the able leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, for the simple fact that, despite Nigeria attaining peak crude oil price around the world for up to 140 dollars, the previous administration with enough resources could not fixed the pipelines and refineries instead encouraging petrol importation to create Billionaires in the name of subsidy, only God knows how many modular refineries could have come on stream with aggregate of subsidy money paid to rent-seekers. I urge the Buhari government to continue the good work. A true and sincere Nigerian will sympathize with this government having been on board just a year and struggling to stabilize the country despite lowest crude oil prices across the world, low foreign reserve, Boko Haram, kidnapping at its peak and vandalisation of oil installations in the Niger Delta.
