The situation is now clear that Wike, who claims to have ‘rescued’ the Rivers State PDP structures when Governor Rotimi Amaechi defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), sees himself as the lord of Rivers politics. He must always be obeyed on all issues that relate to Rivers PDP. He sees himself as an island, maybe.  
From all indications, as he appears to be demonstrating, Wike expects only his will to be done. He probably sees the Rivers PDP as his private estate. He openly boasts that he spent his personal resources to ensure that PDP structures in Rivers State remained intact. One should ask: From where and how did he make so much money in so short a time?
The way Wike is carrying on can only mean that once he gets to power as the governor of Rivers State, his first objective would be to recoup the ‘resources’ he spent, as it were, or refund the source he got it from.
It would have been better and more favourable to Wike if, after ‘rescuing’ Rivers PDP, he assumed the role of a kingmaker and leader of the party, if he wished. It is immoral and unjustifiable for Wike to continue nursing the ambition of taking over power from his kinsman, Rotimi Amaechi – both of Ikwerre stock. He behaves as if the other areas of Rivers State do not matter or are mere geographical expression.
The consequences of Wike’s plan, if it works, would certainly bring defeat to the PDP in Rivers State. The APC would have an easy victory if Wike is fielded. Mark my words! Wike should listen to good reason, and PDP itself should wake up from its slumber to ensure that it takes over Brick House come 2015. A word, it is said, is enough for the wise!
