The Defence Headquarters’ spokesman Major General Chris Olukolade is right. Today, we see and read people calling our soldiers cowards, believing in the prowess of the soldiers of other countries other than our gallant forces. Many of our soldiers have paid the supreme sacrifice for us to live our lives in peace and to go about our normal businesses; yet we do not celebrate them because of politics and mistrust of government.
Before publishing any material, Nigerian media should endeavour to ask themselves one question: “Is this ok for the right to know and good for society?” This balance must always be struck for the growth of our nation.
