Re-Shekarau vs the murder of Ja’afar

Let me compare Shekarau with some past governors on at least three issues:

1) Agriculture:

Audu Bako: Construction a major dam, i.e. Tiga Dam in Kano which greatly improved irrigation farming in the state and its enjoyed to this day.

Abubakar Rimi: Establishment of KASCO which manufactures agricultural implements, thereby complementing what Audu Bako did.

2) Infrastructural Development:  

Audu Bako provided good road network within Kano municipality and its environs; constructed office complexes and housing estates including the famous Kundila.

Abubakar Rimi modernized the Sabon Gari market which was named after him in appreciation; built a trade fair complex and constructed a huge investment house in order to boost commercial activities which was the major occupation of Kano people.

3) Education:

Audu Bako laid a solid foundation in the education sector that people like Ado Umar benefited from; no sensible person in Kano can deny that.

Rimi built staff quarters in all boarding school with furniture and up till now there is no single staff quarters built by other governors, including Shekarau’s. Rimi also established zonal education offices in order to bring educational administration to the grassroots.

Therefore Malam Garba, you just forget about people like Ado Umar. Again, go to the Science Board and see how many vocational schools they have created in over six years. Have they improved on what they met on ground?
