However, I notice that you don’t have national unity in your heart; you are rather interested in religious fanaticism. I expected you to give constructive criticism on the matter, but rather the opposite was what you did. Well, if Papa Ayo is actually involved in this matter, I will not support him. But calling a spade a spade: are you not aware of the crises Islamist extremists have caused? May be because you have not been a victim? Let me ask you a question: if armed robbers snatch your car and use it in a robbery operation, does that make you a robber? In 2010 in Ugbokolo (a town in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State) robbers raided Unity Bank and also snatched a jeep belonging to the Catholic Bishop of Otukpo Diocese; does that make the Bishop a robber?
JUNAID TAJ ([email protected]): We must keep the Weapons Haram fire burning! This issue must not be allowed to be swept under the carpet. Imagine what this country would have been going through were the scenario opposite to the one that unfolded! Please all your colleagues should help keep the flame alight!

Remember the hue and cry that ensued, nearly sending the country into a spin? Then came $9.3m! But where was the hue? Where was the cry? The truth will always prevail. The REAL sponsors of Boko Haram have started emerging, and more of them will be discovered in sha Allah. I personally call upon all Muslims holding public positions at the Federal Government level to resign with immediate effect until full disclosure is made on this matter. Members of the National Assembly must, as matter of urgent national importance, institute a probe. We will not relent in our prayers to Allah Almighty to continue exposing the real supporters of terrorism.
NO NAME ([email protected]): My heart has for long been crying for people that can look at the North as a person that needs serious help. And like it always is with Allah (SWT), help has come at the end. Your Saturday Column pulled me out of my listless mood ever since this bomb-blast discovery of this huge amount, two Nigerians, an Israeli and a jet belonging to the spiritual leader of our compatriots. Surprisingly, not much has yet been done about it, just as the case of Subsidy Fraud was swept under the carpet. And the body language of the Federal Government has obviously shown that Nigerians should not expect any explanation, because the country is simply run by thuggish, corruption-hugging groups. May Allah (SWT) restore peace in this country, and may he increase peaceful co-existence among us.

AIT and Channels and Silverbird are NOT following the Weapons Haram story with the vigour they usually exhibit (of course the NTA is NOT even interested). Imagine what their interest would have been were the case the opposite! They would never have allowed us to even sleep!

ISAIAH ODAGBOYI ([email protected]): I read with keen interest your article on Weapons Haram. Your write-up was quite educating. However, I had expected more from you. I expected you to tell the world the manner by which Boko Haram acquired their sophisticated weapons. Or do they just fall from the sky like rain? Or do they manufacture them in their homes? You should also have told the world which countries give them the support they enjoy. While all well-meaning Nigerians condemn any act of violence and the killing of innocent souls, we must maintain a balanced view on issues, and also a sincere conscience. Have a good day.

DR. SA’IDU AHMAD DUKAWA ([email protected]): Well said, Christian leaders. But it is NOT enough to only condemn CAN President Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. If you agree he has brought your religion into disrepute, the best thing is to change him. As a student of Political Science, I suggest that those concerned should look into the Constitution of CAN – there may perhaps be a few relevant clauses that could allow impeachment. At this time, Nigeria does not need more war mongers.
IBRAHEEM ALIMI ([email protected]): I am glad Allah has blessed this part of the country with columnists such as you. If you look at the scenario generally, I do not blame President Jonathan or Alhaji Dokubo or General Ihejirika; I blame our leaders. Where are the so-called Northern elders? Why do they have an Arewa Consultative Forum, a Northern Elders Forum, a Northern Union? Isn’t this curious? Where is the unity? Our home (the North) is not in order, so how can we ever overcome our tragedies? We will continue praying to Allah, while you please continue your good work in the media.

We salute Our Wonderful President for facilitating this wondrous act of gun-running and money–laundering. We also salute those who call themselves Muslims in his government but are doing nothing to help us unravel this matter which touches on our very existence; they are watching while we are being killed every day without raising as much as an eyebrow. And those bench-warmers over there will surely answer, as wallahi there is God. HasbunalLahu wa ni’imal Wakeel!

Finally, that elder statesman asked aloud: where are the private media organisations? Why are they not pursuing full disclosure in the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act? Does Government still have the Official Secrets Act to hide under ‘security’ and refuse to explain? Oritsejaforgate must never be allowed to sleep; and neither should the matter of Ihejirika/Sheriff/CBN/Boko Haram, for that matter!
And for us as Nigerians, and for us as a people who are still on a personal journey through Allah’s trials, we continue reciting HasbunalLahu wa ni’imal Wakeel! (Allah is Sufficient for us and He is the Best Disposer of affairs.”)
