Every Nigerian with a sense and feeling of national pride, personal dignity and honor should be gravely concerned and psychologically disturbed by the high level of legislative impunity, embarrassments and disrespectful conducts against the president by members of the National Assembly. The whole drama looks more or less, like a well-designed and orchestrated plots, nay booby traps; set to nail and ridicule our president, the symbol of our national glory and prestige, by frustrating him from implementing his anti-corruption crusade and weakening his resolve, to embark on other ethical-cleansing and moral revival programmes, to rehabilitate Nigeria and Nigerians, from the scourge of all forms of endemic pestilences , chronic diseases and debilitating vices that have colonized our national psyche and established a permanent grip on our conscience. That was what many Nigerians expected, to get and know, from your interview with the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Adigie- Oyegun. Unfortunately, the impressions created, looks like the party chairman was out on a diplomatic mission, to appease, comfort and apologize to the guilty party. After all, this current 8th Senate has, in several ways, in the past, demonstrated, exhibited and shown its unconstitutional powers of impunity and illegal immunity, unchallenged, by disobeying both the party, the constitution, and now, has gone full blast for the jugular, by confronting our beloved president, whose mandate was anointed by God, through the voting powers of the Nigerian masses. Now, Mr. President; the die is cast and the battle line is drawn, like in the vintage storyline in the American classic, “High Noon”, with legendary actor, Gary Copper, as conscientious Sherrif, trying to dislodge, disarm and chase away, a gang of well-entrenched crooks and robbers from a small town in New Mexico State, in the Americas of the Gold Rush and Cops and Robbers’ era; produced in 1952: now the scene is re-enacted, in real time, in a country called Nigeria, with a Retired Military General, called Muhammadu Buhari, as the real McCoy, in place of Gary Cooper.
Finally, Mr. President, let the general public, especially the youth, women folks, students and the rural masse who vouched and voted for you, against all odds, get to know, ‘the naked truth, about the other side of this secret-coded conflict, between the peoples’ President and the enemies of the people’. After all, permit me to reveal, here that, there are many good Samaritans, almost an overwhelming majority in the Senate and the House, who support you, in the same way, that many pretenders and PDP masquerades in APC-borrowed ornamental garments of power and authority, despise you, secretly. “There are only few Jackboots, tainted with stains of infamy and indelible marks of corruption in their midst, dominated by old graduates of PDP’s “schools of scandals”, whose noisy nays and nuisance values, usually drown the positive majority yes votes.
So, our beloved president, the masses are with you; for you and totally committed to stay by you. However, beware of the invisible enemies around you that secretly spy on you and deprive and drive the masses by secretly making them to despise you. The masses are your solid companions and your pillars of support, so redesign your mechanism for reaching out and goodwill contacts.
