By this claim, the Council has been inundated with numerous enquiries from diverse quarters, especially in view of the fact that the Council did not make the donation attributed to it nor were its officials present at the event. However, from our findings and reports of other newspapers on the list of major donors at the PDP fund-raising, we observe that a private sector organisation called “National Automotive Association” donated N450 million. In order to save this Council from further embarrassment, we write to request a quick correction to this error conspicuously in your next edition. Let me assure you that National Automotive Council is committed to applying the very meagre resources at its disposal to activities and programmes targeted at nurturing the survival, growth and integrated development of the Nigerian automotive industry.
