Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Ojo Dolapo (22) for allegedly receiving stolen cars from some robbery gangs based in the Eastern part of the country.
Three stolen vehicles were allegedly recovered from the suspect, who resides in the Ikotun area of Lagos.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest.
Hundeyin said that the arrest had to do with a case of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
He said the arrest followed an intelligence gathering on a syndicate of criminals who specialize in armed robbery, car snatching from Eastern part of the country, and bringing them to Lagos to sell.
He said, “One Ojo Dolapo (22), who received three Lexus 330 and one Lexus 350 2017 model through a woman who is now at large, was tracked.
“The suspect, Ojo Dolapo was arrested in Ikotun. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. He led a team of operatives to where he sold the cars, one Lexus 350 silver in color was recovered.
“Efforts are in top gear to arrest other fleeing members and possible recovery of the vehicles.”
Hundeyin revealed that an additional Lexus 330 Black in color was recovered on March 18, 2025, at Ojodu Berger, and that Dolapo is assisting the team of operatives to recover the remaining two Lexus.
