Reckitt, a leading global company specialising in hygiene, health and nutrition, has named Mustapha Bugaje as its new Country Manager for Kenya.

In this capacity, Bugaje will manage the company’s operations, drive growth and further solidify Reckitt’s presence in the East African market.

Bugaje’s appointment comes as Reckitt intensifies its expansion efforts across East Africa, underscoring the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, affordable hygiene solutions for families in the region.

“We are committed to supporting the health and well-being of Kenyans, which is why we have doubled our manufacturing footprint in the country,” Bugaje stated.

Reckitt is known in Kenya for its trusted household brands such as Dettol, a popular hygiene and disinfection product; Harpic, a leading toilet and bathroom cleaner; Mortein Doom, a reliable mosquito control solution; and JIK bleach, famous for stain removal and disinfection. Other well-known products like Air Wick further reinforce the company’s presence in Kenyan homes.

Kenya represents a critical market for Reckitt, with its products enjoying strong consumer loyalty. The company’s science-driven innovations continue to meet everyday needs, earning the trust of Kenyan consumers.

Bugaje joined Reckitt Nigeria in 2015 as the Regional Manager for the Lagos Region, and over the years, he has held various key leadership positions in the South-West and North Regions.

From 2018, he served as Head of Trade Marketing for Nigeria, before taking on the role of Sales Director in 2019, a position he held until September 2024. During his time in these roles, Bugaje led the transformation of Reckitt Nigeria’s go-to-market strategy, enhanced team capabilities, and delivered execution excellence, helping the Nigerian market consistently outperform both locally and globally.

Bugaje holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
