The police command in Enugu State has recovered eight stolen vehicles and detained eight suspects for alleged armed robbery and other offences.

The command’s spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Enugu.

He noted that the breakthrough was achieved through sustained onslaughts against criminality and multiple intelligence-driven operations.

According to him, the feat underscores the command’s unwavering commitment to ridding the state of criminal elements.
Ndukwe said that on Aug. 21, at about 9:30 am, operatives of the command’s SWAT arrested three suspects, aged 44, 35, and 49.(NAN)

“A Toyota Kluger (Highlander SUV), reportedly stolen at Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, on July 21,
refurbished, and already being prepared for sale in Awka, Anambra, was recovered from them,” he said.

Ndukwe said that similarly, on Aug. 19, at 1:30a.m., operatives attached to Ozalla Division intercepted suspected criminals along the Udi/Ozalla Road and detained a 26-year-old suspect while others escaped.

The spokesman said that the criminal gang’s operational vehicle, a Toyota Hiace bus with Delta registration number ASB 108 YF, was recovered from the suspect. (NAN)
