The event which is backed by the Research In Motion (RIM) Company, originators of Blackberry phones and services will feature some of Nigeria’s A-list fashion designers based at home and abroad.
LFDW is about real excellence in design; from the selection of the designers and exhibitors, to the development of their brands and the quality of work they ultimately produce. In this regard, renowned fashion designer Maureen Ikem-Okogwu, the brain behind the Sunny Rose label will be debuting its Spring/Summer 2012 ready to wear collection during the four-day event.
Aligning itself with the ideals of the LFDW, RIM says that like the LFDW it is committed to excellence and strives to deliver quality at the highest level offering different products with style and design led elements that appeal to the fashion and design industry.
According to RIM, “Research shows that fashion and its accessories rank among the top two spending priorities for a potential RIM (Blackberry) user. Lagos Fashion and Design Week will provide RIM (Blackberry) with a communication platform that grants unlimited access to the fashion and design community.
As part of attractions for the event, there will be runway shows featuring new season collections from the best talents in the fashion industry; design led exhibitions featuring fashion products and accessories, textiles, furniture design, photography, art installations and architecture, workshops that will facilitate knowledge transfer, information exchange and networking opportunities across board
The Lagos Fashion Week is set to take place at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
