Rev. Ugo gave this promise at a workshop with the theme, “Standardization of processes and product in residential construction” held in Calabar.
He said that REDAN has also decided to partner with financial institutions to provide members with construction finance to deliver mass and affordable residential housing to Nigerians.
He said, “Our quest is to reduce the housing deficit which is presently put at about 17 million units. One way we can ensure that, is to utilize the Guarantee Fund Scheme which is being packaged for members by the World Bank and the Project Implementation Unit. This scheme, as its name connotes, is a guarantee scheme to facilitate sourcing of construction finance and making it seamlessly available to members who actively key into the scheme and participate in the process delivery, after meeting criteria.”
He said that the new REDAN exco will create more jobs as well as encourage professionalism of practitioners in the housing chain delivery.
