President of REDAN, Rev. Ugochukwu Chime gave this assurance when he led members of the association on a courtesy call to the Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mrs Akon Eyakenyi in Abuja. He explained that the delegation had visited the minister with the view to appreciate her sterling leadership quality.
His words: “We are here to appreciate the Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Mrs Akon Eyakenyi, for her sterling quality and how she has been able to assist developers to actualise the issue of affordability in housing delivery. She has commissioned more estates than many of her predecessors and she has also been able to engender that assistance to developers by way of encouragement, by way of intervention in critical areas to be able to move ahead.
“Again, she did not abandon the projects that were started by her predecessor which is a novel thing. She was also able to network with fellow ministers, especially the minister of finance, to ensure the creation of the NMRC and other intervention approaches and policies concerning the housing sector. So we have come here to appreciate that. She also took role to ensure smooth transition in REDAN in February.”
Speaking, the Minister, Mrs. Akon Eyakenyi,  called  on the newly elected executive to ensure that stakeholders in the sector maintain quality in pursuit of affordable housing for Nigerians, saying  it would help curtail the  incidences of collapsed buildings in the country.
