Redeemed Church builds northern college

Pastor Sunday Edward Akande, in charge of Region 8 of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has laid the foundation of a new secondary school, Christ the Redeemer College, Northern Region Redemption Camp, in Kassa, Barakin-Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The school is designed to have 16 classrooms, boys and girls hostels, administrative block and other facilities.

Speaking, Pastor Akande said the effort was part of the policy of RCCG to promote sound education and raise leaders of tomorrow that would have the fear of God.

Akande, who is also the Special Assistant (Technical)  to RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, said sound education coupled with spiritual upbringing was the bedrock of any society, and that society that desires to grow under the watch of good leaders could not joke with the two.

“God is a master builder who works in partnership with men and a reward those who are in partnership with him. The laying of this foundation is in line with the policy thrust of the RCCG to promote education and raise children that would be God fearing,” he said.

In his remarks, the college’s board chairman, Pastor Tunde Ologere, commended the General Overseer, Adegboye, and his wife Pastor Folu Adeboye, for their vision, adding that the concept was a move toward the expansion of the existing Christ the Redeemer College at Keana Link, Jos.

He called on members of the church and parents to team up with the management of the school towards making the project a reality.
