Referees can make NPFL best in Africa – Djondang

Speaking on a monitored programme on Sports Radio, the Cameroonian, who has spent all his professional years on the Nigerian domestic scene after first joining El Kanemi Warriors five years ago, however said that notwithstanding the challenges, the country’s top flight is still better than that of his native Cameroon.
“I’m really enjoying my stay in Nigeria and wouldn’t trade it for any country in Africa because this league is one of the best. In fact, if not for the referee problem, I would say this is the best league on the continent. It is far better than the Cameroonian league” the former FC Taraba player said.
Djondang turned down an offer from perennial Cameroonian league champions, Coton Sport Garoua, in favour of title champions, Kano Pillars.
The player, who hails from Northern Cameroon, was one of the most outstanding foreigners in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last season and was listed in the Best Foreign XI by the influential League Bloggers Awards (LBA).
The Kano side is Djondang’s third Nigerian team after a season at FC Taraba, in the lower division and two seasons with top flight campaigners, El-Kanemi.
