Refugee commission seeks partnership to train 10,000 IDPs

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) has called for strategic partnerships and collaborations to train 10,000 IDPs in four locations in the country.

In a statement yesterday, the federal commissioner of NCFRMI, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, said this was to allow the commission to intervene properly to migration patterns in the country by joining effort with relevant agencies.

Speaking with journalists in Lagos, Imaan stated that the bulk of her work was not just humanitarian, but developmental.

She said, “We deal with settlement, rehabilitation, integration and reintegration. That’s the core part of our mandate

“Also, the commission is the lead agency that coordinates migration issues in the country, and Nigeria as a country has multifaceted migration dimensions; from irregular migration to forced migration and economic migration.”
