Regulatory Bodies Induct Medical Graduates at PAMO Varsity

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria have inducted 28 Medical Graduates from the PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, urging them to adhere to the professional oaths.
The inducted graduates are from the Departments of Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science as well as Radiography and Radiation Science of the institution.
Speaking during the joint induction/oath taking for graduates at the university yesterday, acting Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) Dr. Donald Ofili, advised the new medical graduates to abide by the rule and regulations of their council.
He urged them to always uphold the ethics of their profession which they have sworn to abide by it.
Speaking during the induction/induction/oath-taking ceremony, the pro-chancellor and chairman of council, Dr. Peter Odili, urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the institution and the medical field.
He also donated a total sum of N2.8 million to 28 of it’s graduates, who graduated from the departments of Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science and Radiography and Radiation Science.
The joint induction/oath-taking ceremony, was conducted on the graduands from the three departments by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
Odili stated the 28 graduands, which included 18 from the department of Nursing Science, 7 from the department of Medical Laboratory Science and three from the department of Radiography and Radiation Science, will receive N100,000 each.
He announced automatic employment from three graduands from the department of Radiography and Radiation Science, at the Pamo Teaching Hospital, Port Harcourt.
The former Rivers State governor assured the medical laboratory science and nursing science graduands that the governing council of the university will do all it can to ensure they get job placements.
Odili appealed to them to remain worthy ambassadors of the institution, just as their predecessors.
“We urge you to be worthy ambassadors of this university. The feedback we are getting from your predecessors is very encouraging.” He said.
Earlier, acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Smith Jaja, said the graduates have gone through the best trainings at PAMO University of Medical Sciences.
Seven graduates of Medical Laboratory Science were inducted by Dr Donald Ofili, Acting Registrar/CEO, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, similarly, the Induction of the 18 Nursing Graduands was done by the Registrar, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Dr Ndaji Hassan represented by Dr Daughter Sample, while the Registrar/CEO of the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria, Prof. Mark Okeji inducted the three Radiographers who bagged automatic scholarship.
