Residents of Keffi and adjoining communities in Nasarawa State said the rehabilitation of the Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto–Abaji Road will boost trade, mobility, and economic growth in communities and town along the corridor.
Speaking under the aegis of the Keffi 70s–80s Elites Forum, the residents said the rehabilitation of the highway would not only improve transportation but also strengthen commercial ties between Nasarawa State, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and other parts of the country.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Lawal Ramalan Maizabo, the Forum commended President Tinubu for what it called “a landmark decision that underscores his unwavering commitment to infrastructural renewal, economic integration, and national development.”
“The Keffi–Nasarawa–Toto–Abaji corridor remains a major gateway linking Nasarawa State to the FCT and beyond. Its rehabilitation will undoubtedly enhance mobility, trade, commerce, and security in the region,” the statement read.
The Forum also lauded Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, for his “tireless and strategic engagement” in ensuring the success of the project, noting that his advocacy and collaboration with federal authorities were key to securing approval for the road’s rehabilitation.
Similarly, the group commended the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, for his swift mobilisation of personnel and machinery for the inspection and early commencement of works on the project.
“His proactive leadership and commitment to quality delivery have rekindled public confidence in the government’s infrastructural initiatives,” the Forum said.
They further applauded Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, for his consistent follow-ups and coordination efforts that contributed significantly to the project’s approval.
The Forum expressed optimism that with continued collaboration among all stakeholders, the rehabilitation project would be completed to the highest standards and within schedule, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
