Religious leaders have urged Nigerians irrespective of their differences to coexist peacefully.

They made the call yesterday in Abuja at the Interfaith Peace Summit on the 2023 elections, organised by the NTA Abrahamic Mission and Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society (AIS).

The Executive Director of Al-Habibiyyah and the Chief Imam, Sheik Fuad Adeyemi, said there was the need to sensitise them on what to say, where to say and what their religion says about living a peaceful life among one another.

“God wants us to be in peace with one another before we decide to get what we want. We should be able to accept God’s judgment in whatever we have and we should not work against God,” Adeyemi said.

Also, the representative of the Christian Community, African Church Diocese of Abuja and the North, Bishop Peter Ogunmuyiwa, said Nigeria is bigger than anyone and everyone must work to preserve it by living peacefully among one another.

He said, “Our diversity shouldn’t be a problem because every zone is naturally endowed by God and we need to harness these resources for nation building. I see diversity as a blessing and not a curse.”
