A non-government organisation, Journalists Initiative on Immunisation Against Polio (JAP), has urged religious and community leaders to champion sensitisation campaign against the spread of COVID-19.

JAP Kaduna State coordinator, Lawal Dogara, in a statement, described COVID-19 as a “notorious disease’’ which has spread all over the world and does not respect class or position of any person.

He called the citizens to stop propaganda and controversies that link the disease to 5G generation, saying only experts in the health profession have adequate knowledge on the origin and its cause.

JAP appealed to all Nigerians to abide by the stay-at-home order by government as that is the best alternative to stop the spread of the disease.

He said the organisation has met with religious and traditional leaders in its drive to sensitise the people as part of its social responsibility.
