Rema’s “Raves & Roses” has become the first Afrobeat album to receive RIAA gold certification. Released in 2022, Rema’s debut album, “Raves & Roses”, experienced great commercial success, assisted by the international success of his big singles, “Calm Down” and “Soundgasm”.
“Raves & Roses” became the first by an African artiste to receive RIAA gold certification, joining Wizkid’s Grammy-nominated album, “Made In Lagos”, as the only Afrobeat record to receive RIAA certification.

The album saw tremendous popularity in the US, where it peaked at No 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained on the list for more than 52 weeks due to the enormous commercial success of the smash single, “Calm Down”, which featured Selena Gomez.
