Remo Stars have appointed Usman Abdallah as their new technical adviser, replacing Daniel Ogunmodede, who guided the Ikenne-based side to their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title last season.
The announcement was made yesterday through an official statement released by the club.
“We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Usman Abd’Allah as the new Technical Adviser of the club.
“The appointment takes immediate effect and represents a major step in the club’s strategic drive to enhance performance and achieve greater success,” the statement read.
Abdallah, an experienced tactician, brings extensive domestic league knowledge to the champions, who are currently enduring a difficult campaign.
He last managed Kano Pillars in the NPFL and is expected to apply his experience to steady Remo Stars as the season reaches a decisive stage.
Despite being reigning champions, Remo Stars have struggled this term and are presently 19th on the NPFL table with 27 points from 27 matches, placing them firmly in relegation danger. Abdallah’s appointment is therefore viewed as a strategic move by the club’s management to stabilize performances and guide the team to safety.
The new technical adviser is expected to take charge for the first time this weekend when Remo Stars host his former side, Katsina United.
His familiarity with the league and understanding of its competitive demands are seen as crucial assets as the club seeks a turnaround.
He won the league with Enyimba FC and has also served as assistant coach for the Super Eagles.
