Co-Chair of the event Hauwa Mshelbwala explained that “this is an exhibitors fair seasonally organized by MNL networks, culminating in a thrilling avant-garde runway show that will bring together new and emerging trends that affect and improve modern day family life, fashion, health and medicine. July 2011 holds the maiden edition of this great event.”
The event will feature “Bella Preggers” which will showcase trendy urban outfits and fashion accessories for expectant mothers, “Office Afrique” in which indigenous designers will display trado-corporate outfits designed specifically with local fabrics for today’s working class Nigerians, “Pretty in Pink” which is a special runway show dedicated to breast cancer survivors. The models will be women who have fought and defeated breast cancer, the organisers say.
The segment will also have breast cancer awareness messages delivered through interactive cutting-edge multimedia tools, and by the renowned Prof. Ifeoma Okoye (President, Association for Good Clinical Practice in Nigeria (AGCPN) in person,; and also the distribution of “pink tickets” for breast cancer screening at partner clinics at discounted rates.
Children will also have the opportunity to catwalk in “Babies got swag” where infant super models will showcase emerging trends in infant/baby couture with both traditional and international flavor.
