No fewer than 868 constituents have benefitted from the N63m empowerment programme of Hon Aliyu Sani Madaki, a member representing Dala federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

Out of the beneficiaries, 210 people were given brand new motorcycles, 53 others went home with plots of land, 105 women were given sewing machines and 12 ward women leaders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the constituency were given cash donation.

Also among the beneficiaries were APC’s state and wards elders as well as coordinators of Kwankwasiyya in the 12 wards of Dala federal constituency. It was gathered that 473 supporters of Kwankwasiyya movement were given a cash donation of N15m by the lawmaker.

Speaking at the occasion, Madaki said the gesture was a reciprocal to the contributions the constituents were given to him and the Kwankwasiyya movement before, during and after the 2015 general elections.

Madaki explained that the donation was just the beginning, as according to him he had ordered for collation of names of Kwankwasiyya supporters for another round of assistance which he said would come soon.

“I have ordered for selection of 20 people each from the 12 wards in Dala. This will include 15 males and five females for the purpose of given them assistance. This is just the beginning, I know the sacrifice people are doing to me and I will do something within the little resources I have to reciprocate the gesture.

“I am appealing to those who have not benefitted from this round of assistance to exercise patience. This is just the beginning. Although, I will not satisfy everybody, but I will do my best to ensure that as many people as possible get the assistance in one way or the other.”

Earlier, a former commissioner under Kwankwaso’s administration, Dr Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, said Madaki had exhibited high level of commitment towards improving the lives of his constituents.

He said: “Madaki has constructed two hospitals in Yalwa and Unguwar Salka, constructed 142 motorized boreholes in all the 12 wards in his constituency and equipped an e-library at a Bayero University Kano’s School of Continuing Education along Goron Dutse road.
