Disclosing this in Abuja, Nwangubi revealed that the first session of the academy, which also runs academic programmes will commence this year.

He explained that all facilities and logistics needed for the take off of the academy, including buses have been provided, just as competent instructors have also been recruited to carry out the admission of students.

Nwangubi, a footballer during his secondary school days, said the idea of the academy is his little way of helping sports authorities in the country to find solution to the country’s sports woes, saying that students in the academy will not be required to pay fees throughout their stay in the academy.

“I have registered an academy with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to be based in Ganye, Adamawa State, and when it takes off fully, not only Adamawa State will benefit from it, as youth from across the country will be admitted based on their qualification as set out by the board of directors and instructors.

“There are millions of talented Nigerian youths out there who need sponsorship to realize their dreams of becoming sportsmen and women, and I hope this academy will provide that opportunity to them”, said Nwangubi.
