Kidnappers arrested by the police in Sumaila Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State have revealed that they killed their colleague for refusing to repent from kidnapping activities after they resolved to repent.

Speaking to journalists when they were paraded by the spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, their leader, Alhasan Gambo, said they got tired of kidnapping and were willing to repent but that their colleague refused to accept the decision.

He said, “We decided to repent from kidnapping and we asked him to join, but he refused. So we decided to kidnap him. We called his family and collected N705,000. Later we killed him for refusing to repent.

“We had repented already before they arrested us. We will never go back even if we are released today. We want the police to consider this.”
