A public affairs analyst, Jide Ojo, has said research and development are key to restructuring Nigeria’s economy.

Featuring last night on Trust TV’s political programme, Daily Politics, Ojo said: “Let’s look at how to diversify the economy in such a way that we are able to make maximum use of our research and development. Let’s look at how to harness this and make our economy more productive.

“We should not be looking at our debt to GDP ratio which they said is small (under 5%), what about the revenue to debt which is a more critical decision? 

“So, these are critical decisions that need to be made. Even if we maintain these bourgeois political structures I have argued against, let’s make the economy more buoyant through research and development.”
