The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, has declared a 72-hour protest strike over assault on doctors in the state.

The decision to embark on the strike was announced in Lafia on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, just hours after a distressing incident unfolded at the state-owned hospital.

Daily Trust gathered that a doctor on duty became the victim of an assault perpetrated by a male relative of a patient whose identity was yet to be identified.

Protesting against incessant aggression towards its members and other healthcare workers in the state, the association, alongside supporting hospital staff, convened a demonstration within the hospital premises.
