The community head, Alhaji Suleiman A. Gado, said the primary school, which serves about three communities, is overstretched and has no facilities to make study easy for the pupils.
Gado noted that the building is degenerating having already lost most of its features like doors, windows and roofs.
Another resident, Aliyu Jibrin, said the during rainy season, the pupils could not go to school due to lack of access road from their communities as well as the condition of what is left of their classrooms.
He said the state of the school discourages some residents from going to school, adding that many young people prefer going to the farm with their parents than going to the school.
He added that acquiring secondary school education after completion of primary school is difficult in the community.
“I finished secondary school in 2013. I trekked long distance to neighbouring communities before I could achieve that,” he said. He added that he is now a commercial motorcycle (okada) rider, as he could not proceed with his studies.
