The deplorable state of Byhazhin Across road

Residents of Byazhin Across, a suburb of Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have expressed concern over the deplorable state of the main road in the densely populated community.

The residents, who spoke to Aso Chronicle, expressed disappointment that the road has remained in a bad state  for many years, with government doing little to construct it.

They alleged that contract for the construction of the road was awarded some years back but no work had been done on it yet.

A resident who gave his name simply as Chuks, said residents sometimes contributed money to buy sand and fill gullies on the road created by erosion.

“Because of the nature of this road, I find it hard to sell my goods on time because my customers always complain about my shop not being easily accessible because the road is bad,” Chuks, who is a trader, said.

Also speaking Mr. Eze said, “Land owners in the community often contribute an agreed amount of money for the maintenance of the road but that has not helped much because the rehabilitation was not done professionally.

The residents called on the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Mr. John Gabaya, to construct the road as, according to them, it would boost economic activities in the area.
