Residents of Rigachikun community in Igabi LGA of Kaduna State, on Sunday, protested against security agents’ for allegedly killing a trader in the community.
Daily Trust gathered that the victim was hit by a bullet fired by the security agents while trying to close his shop as thugs stoned a popular politician in the area on Saturday around 4pm at a nearby polling unit.
Abubakar Lawal, who was together with the victim at his shop before he was shot, said, “We were together inside his shop discussing because he hardly gets involved in political activities, but that day I left him at the shop to go home. Later I heard some youths booed and threw stones at a politician at the polling unit close by. And Mansur was hit while closing his shop.”
One of the youths in the area, Maruf Abdulrahman, said, “We need justice for the deceased because this was not the first time such an incident happened in this community, but we hope it will be the last.”

The victim’s mother, Zulai Abdullahi, and wife, Safiya Usman, urged the authorities concerned to ensure justice for them.
The state’s police command’s spokesman, ASP Mansur Hassan, who confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police (CP), Audu Ali Dabigi, had ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
The Member of the House of Representatives, Igabi Federal Constituency of Kaduna State, Hussaini Muhammad Jallo, urged the police to fish out the killers of Mansur.
