A group, Jimeta Progressive Association (JIPA), has stormed Adamawa State House of Assembly to demand re-instatement of Yola North council chairman, Mahmud Abba.
Abba was suspended on 27th April by Governor Muhammad Jibrilla for 12 weeks but was prevented from resuming office after expiration of the suspension on grounds that he challenged the governor in court.
The member representing Mubi South, Abubakar Abdurrahman, who received the letter of protest on Monday, pledged to deliver it to the House for necessary action.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the Association, Jafaru Baba Girei, said his group was committed to upholding justice and fairness in the polity, and called on the legislators to intervene in the crisis rocking the metropolitan council.
