In 2006, immediately after I had completed my SSCE, I went straight to my village. It was during raining season and so, my paternal uncle paid for a hectare of land to be harrowed for me in order to sow beans. After that I joined some of my age mates in doing hired planting for some old women who in turn paid us 1 naira per 10 feet. I really enjoyed my stay there as I learned how to swim there too. These things I don’t think can be available to even those younger generations.

When we shout for Boko Haram insurgence to be put to an end,we are not doing so in order to compete for oil license or for the children of the poor to share same office with the blessed ones; we are not asking that government must bring down the prices of  air travel tickets in order for the rich and poor to be equal. All we ask is to be able to cultivate our farmlands, live together with our fowls and goats peacefully. And to the western world, we don’t want your aids, we only needed our farmlands and domestic animals to survive.
