The University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan was able to tackle Ebola disease with the Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative, Chief Medical Director of the premier teaching hospital, Professor Temitope Alonge has said.
He disclosed this in Ibadan during the formal presentation of multi-million naira worth of assorted medical equipment and consumables to the hospital by a non-governmental organization, the Olajumoke Akinjide Foundation (OAF).
Items presented to UCH by the foundation on the occasion included pediatrics operation tables, dental examination chairs, blood donor chairs, wheel chairs, trolleys, orthopedic equipment, electric beds used for resuscitation of patients suffering from cardiac arrest as well as various medical consumables including Ebola detecting thermometers.
Receiving the presentations from the Chairperson of the foundation Mrs. Modupeola Abimbola Akin-Deko, the Chief Medical Director remarked that the items would go a long way in addressing the needs of UCH just as he noted with delight the frontline roles played by the foundation in support of the hospital on the advent of the Ebola crisis.
