The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) said reviving nomadic education programme is the panacea to the security challenges facing the country.
A former North-East zonal chairman of MACBAN, Alhaji Mafindi Danburam, who stated this while briefing newsmen at the weekend in Gombe, said some of the problems could be traced to the alleged neglect of the nomadic education programme by the federal government, adding that improved education of the pastoralists was critical to security management in the country.
“I, therefore call on the relevant authorities to revive nomadic education, make it functional so that our people will be enlightened to know their rights and support nation building.”
According to him, in the past, the nomadic education programme assisted pastoralists to benefit from the policies of government and to make demands for their rights.
