Richard Ali publishes debut poetry collection

Co-publisher of Parresia Publishers, Richard Ali will soon release his debut collection of poetry published by Konya Shamsrumi.

Titled ‘The Anguish of Vigilance’, Ali’s work is described on Konya’s website as one that “deals with a range of ideas and issues, playing with form and structure. At the centre of them all is the image of a poet in a penultimate space, at an angle to the stairs of this world in the sense of James Baldwin.”

The release date is however yet to be made public.

Ali is a lawyer and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Parresia. He has participated I various writing competitions and has served as judge for the BN Award, an Africa-wide poetry prize. ‘City of Memories’ is his first novel.
