Richard Ali, a publisher and writer, is set to hold the first reading of his debut collection of poetry titled ‘The Anguish and Vigilance of Things’.

Hosted by Open Arts, a place for creative exploration, discovery, and collaboration, the event is scheduled to take place in Barnawa, Kaduna tomorrow.

Published by Konya Shamsrumi, ‘The Anguish and Vigilance of Things’ is described as a collection that “deals with a range of ideas and issues, playing with form and structure. At the centre of them all is the image of a poet in a penultimate space, at an angle to the stairs of this world in the sense of James Baldwin.”

Ali is also the author of ‘City of Memories’, his debut novel.
