The chairman of ABG Group, Alhaji Bawa Garba, and the national president of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Alhaji Aminu Goronyo, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the supply of different types of fertiliser to the association. 
The MoU, signed last week, was aimed at supplying 50 million bags of Urea, 30 million bags of NPK, 10 million bags of organic fertiliser and 500,000 litres of organic liquid fertiliser to rice farmers in the country.
The ABG Group chairman said equipment worth billions of naira and other farm inputs would be provided as loan by his group to members of the RIFAN. 
He said the loan for fertiliser would be repaid on instalment basis, within one year, while repayment for other farm equipment and machinery would be made in 36 months.
According to the MoU, RIFAN would decide the quantity of power tillers and tractors it needed for its members and ABG would facilitate procurement from South Korea or China.
He said the Agriculture Supermarket of the ABG Group would provide 12,500 tractors, including tractor hiring scheme, to farmers at N24, 950 per day.
Meanwhile, Garba, who is also the chairman of the ECOWAS Agriculture and Agro-allied Technology Exhibition, announced that the agriculture trade fair would take place at the Kaduna International Trade Fair Centre October 7 to16. 
He said 148 local and international companies were expected to participate at the fair, scheduled to be declared open by President Muhammadu Buhari.
