Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty, popularly known as Rihanna or Riri has been at the centre of the entertainment industry for more than a decade. She has hits like ‘Umbrella’, ‘Diamonds,’ eight albums and a recent release ‘Anti.’
The Barbadian star has 200 million record sales and one of the world’s most established music icons.
Joining the league of music stars like Beyoncé who have added acting the CVs, Rihanna made her debut entry into the movie scene in 2012 when she starred as Cora Raikes in ‘Battleship,’ the sci-fi action war film  directed by Peter Berg.
Although the movie was not a huge box office success, Rihanna gained huge recognition in Hollywood.
But every year since this, Riri has been in one movie or the other.
In 2013, she had another appearance as herself in the comedy flick, ‘This is the end,’ alongside some of Hollywood’s big names – James Franco, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogan.
In the 2014 remake of the 1982 drama film/comedy music, ‘Annie,’ she starred as Moon Goddess.
She lent her voice in 2015 to the animation ‘Home’ as the voice of Gratuity “Tip” Tucci, the teenage girl who befriended the alien, Oh. This, unlike ‘Battleship,’ performed well at the box office and was considered an overall success despite the mixed reviews from critics.
There is no stopping the ‘Kiss it better,’ crooner who is one of the leads in the ‘Ocean’s eleven’ inspired all-female cast heist film, ‘Ocean’s eight.’ The highly anticipated movie of the 2001 Ocean’s franchise is another high profile entry into movies for the music star who only recently starred in ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,’ by French director, Luc Besson.
The sci-fi action movie set in the 28th Century is due for release in June 2017.
Rihanna who is also a song writer, model and   clothing designer has been in the news over her rumoured on-and-off relationship with Canadian rapper, Drake.
And although neither of them have confirmed anything about what was going on between them, they have worked on many tracks together like ‘What’s my name,’ ‘Take care,’ ‘Work’ and ‘Too good.’
