The Plateau State Police Command yesterday said it was worried about the rising cases of rape and culpable homicides in the state.

A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna, also appealed to members of the public to live in peace and learn to tolerate and forgive one another.

He said the appeal became necessary to stem the tide of culpable homicides recorded by the command in recent years.

“Members of the public have to desist from taking laws into their hands. Aggrieved persons should always report their grievances to the nearest police station for appropriate action.”

ASP Terna also said “the number of rape cases recorded across the state in the last few months is worrisome.”
