Speaking to Feverpitch during the weekly media parley in Abuja, the player said when he got the invitation to Eagles camp, he was not surprised because he knew it would come one day.

According to him, even as he was playing in his first season in the topflight, many football fans had tipped him to play for the Super Eagles.

He, therefore said when he was invited, he only thanked God for making it possible for him to be part of the national team at this time.

Ezekiel said now that the opportunity has come, he will give it the best shot because such chance may not come his way again.

The tall defender said he has learnt a lot under the national team coaches and is willing to put that to good use if given the opportunity to play against the Lone Stars.

“I am excited by this opportunity to be in Super Eagles camp. I cannot say it came to me as a surprise because even before now, people used to tell me that I am good enough for the senior national team.

“When it happened, I only thanked God for making my dream come true. Now that I am here, I will do my best to be considered for the match against Lone Stars. If selected. I will like to put to use all that I have learnt here”.

Ezekiel who enjoys playing the role of a libero said his role model is Manchester United’s Rio Ferdinand.

“My team mates call me Ferdinand because I play like him. I am also working hard to play professional football abroad. Who knows, one day I may even play for Manchester United”, he said.
