The police in Ogun State have arrested two internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boys, who killed and mutilated the corpse of a 40-year-old man, Abdullahi Azeez, for money ritual.

The suspects, Friday Abinya Odeh (21) and Poso Idowu (20) were arrested following a report at the Owode Egba Division by the relatives of the victim.

Police spokesman in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday, told newsmen that the relatives reported to the police that the man left his home at Kobape area of Abeokuta on June 8, 2022, and did not return.

He said the police embarked on a “technical and intelligence-based investigation” which led them to the hideout of Friday Abinya Odeh in September, where the Airtel SIM card of the victim was recovered, adding that Odeh’s arrest led to the arrest of Poso Idowu.

He explained that, “On interrogation, the suspect confessed that they kidnapped the victim on June 8, 2022, at Kobape area at about 8pm, from where they took him into a bush, killed him and cut his body into parts.

“They confessed further that it was a herbalist, simply identified as Arab Money, who they claimed they contacted on Facebook that prescribed the ritual for them.”

The spokesman added that “all effort to recover the remains of the victim proved abortive as the suspects claimed to have disposed of them.”
