Ritualists kill 3-year-old girl in Bauchi

 A three-year-old girl was reportedly murdered and some parts of her body including two eyes and her private part was removed by suspected ritualists in Ningi LGA of Bauchi State.

 A source, who craved anonymity, said the girl (Asiya) was declared missing by her parents and after two days, her mutilated was discovered Thursday evening in Ningi.

 The source added that her parents, who are residents of Sabuwar Denawa in Ningi town got the news of the recovery of the dead body of their daughter through some Almajiri boys in the area.

 The case was reported to the police authorities in Ningi, who immediately went to the scene, evacuated the mutilated body to the General Hospital, Ningi where a medical doctor confirmed her dead.

 The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the incident, saying police received a report from one Malam Saleh of a lifeless body of small girl around the graveyard in Ningi, adding that the DPO led his men to the scene and evacuated the body to Ningi General Hospital.

 Wakil explained that a medical doctor at the hospital confirmed the death of the girl after which the body was released to the parents while result of the postmortem is being awaited to determine the exact cause of her death.

 He, however, denied removal of any of her body parts, adding that “Medical reports has it that her body parts are intact. But because the body has started decomposing, some of the parts too must have decomposed.”

 Wakil added that the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, has directed thorough investigation on the incident.
