According to a report on the National Council for Arts and Culture site, the NCAC Director General Otunba Olusegun, while presenting the NAFEST to the state governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike, at the Government House, Port Harcourt, commended Wike for accepting to host the event.
He said the gesture was another testimony to Wike’s determination towards making Rivers State the centre of socio cultural events in Nigeria.
Citing similar events which had taken place in the state recently like the Nigerian Guild of Editor’s meeting, African Wresting Championship Competition and AMA Award, among others, Runsewe said, adding NAFEST to the list is a confirmation of the high level of security and infrastructural facilities in the state.
Governor Wike thanked the NCAC boss for giving Rivers State the hosting right. He promised that the state, under his leadership, would do all possible to ensure that NAFEST 2018 is the best ever organized.
