Road crash claims 13 lives in Niger

Road crash claims 13 lives in Niger

Thirteen people have lost their lives in an auto crash on Minna-Bida road, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) confirmed yesterday. 

Speaking with journalists in Minna, the Niger State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Yusuf Garba, said the incident happened on December 16 along Gada-Eregi village.

He said that the crash involved two white Toyota Hiace bus XK382ABJ and  XK 383 ADJ heading in opposite directions. 

He attributed the cause of the accident to reckless driving, adding that commercial drivers always wanted to take advantage of the festive period to make more money by over-speeding.
