Operatives of the Ogun Police Command have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Edehikenna Daniel Stanley and Segun Tope for alleged robbery operation at Crown Park Company situated at Ota industrial Estate.

They allegedly invaded the company, overpowered the security guard and stolen two heavy industrial batteries.

The suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the policemen in Onipanu divisional headquarters, Ado, Odo Ota LG that robbers have invaded the company and holding the security men there hostage.

The Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi told newsmen in Abeokuta that following the distress call, the DPO Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, mobilized his men and moved to the scene.

According to him, the hoodlums who have stolen two heavy industrial batteries fled upon sighting policemen.

Oyeyemi said the suspects were “chased and two of them were apprehended.”

He said two industrial batteries, a toy gun with which they used to instill fear in the mind of the security men and two knives, were recovered from them.

“The two suspects have been transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department on the order of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole for discreet investigation,” Oyeyemi said.
