The gang, Oodua Trust learnt,  laid seige on members of Araromi community, Olambe a surburb area of Lagos in recent time attacking residents. It was leant that on Thursday evening around 7pm  the gang had gone to carry out another operation but the police arrested the situation following a distress call.

One of the gang members identified as Goke Ayorinde was said to have been shot dead during shoot-out with the police while another member identified as Jamiu Akanni was arrested. Other members of the gang were also said to have escaped with bullet wounds.

A source close to Ajuwon police station where the case is being handled told Oodua Trust that the armed robbers were set to commence operation when the police arrived the scene.

The source also said that the gang members moved to the scene on commercial motorcycles but were not so lucky as the police appeared on the scene.

A female resident of the area who pleaded ananomity told Oodua Trust that it was strange because the community had enjoyed relative peace until recently when some elements started attacking them.

Recovered from the gang were six live catridges and locally made barrel pistol.

The case Oodua Trust further learnt have been transferred to the police headquaters , Elewereran, Abeokuta for further investigation.
